Sources of Light
$700.00
The title of this monotype pretty much says it all. In a dark interior the sources of light are limited. This particular interior could be a modern cathedral or a subway station, with the figure passing between the lights. The apertures that let the light in shape the light, give it character and form. Maybe it is about manipulation of light, or, sometimes, its scarcity, or about finding it in dark places.

Monotype is a printmaking method, where an image is created (essentially painted on the plexiglass plate) to be then printed on the piece of paper – only once. Unlike etching or woodcuts or lithography there are no multiples, monotype is a unique image.
